Alpha is a non-profit organization created to provide a competitive and affordable experience for all athletes with a quality over quantity philosophy. Alpha is a family. Our athletes work with and get to know athletes of all ages, and our teams will support and cheer for each other whenever they can.

The Alpha Experience

Alpha offers four levels of teams; National, Midwest, Regional, and Developmental.

These fees are all inclusive, meaning there are no additional fees for families. The fees include coaching fees, court expenses, insurance, tournament cost, Nike uniform package, and coaches travel expenses.

INFORMATION MEETING

Welcome to Alpha Performance Volleyball! We will be entering our inaugural season for the 2019 – 2020 year.  We offer elite level coaching for athletes in Central KY and the surrounding area for athletes between the ages of 10 - 18. We strive to offer the best coaching and practice environment to develop high-level athletes and teams.   Included is information about the upcoming club season.

ALPHA ADVANTAGE PRE-TRYOUT CAMP

Alpha Performance will be holding a Pre-Tryout Camp for athletes 14 and under on November 3rd from 3:30-5:30 and November 6th from 6-8.   Athletes 15 and up will attend on November 3rd 6-8 and 5th from 6-8.   Pre-tryout camp will be held at Anne Mason Elementary.  Many of our coaches will be present to work with athletes in all areas and skill sets. ALPHA TRYOUT DATES

TRYOUT REGISTRATION

• Tryout Registration can be completed at www.alphaperformancevb.com under the APV Club Registration tab. Staff will be on site for registration the night of tryouts, but you must wait in line, which will limit the time coaches have to evaluate your athlete.

• Tryout cost is $80. All fees and payment will be collected through the website.  

• If you wish to register separately, please contact [email protected] for a registration form and return with an $80 check for tryouts to 317 Princess Arch Lane Lexington, KY 40511.

• Teams will be announced by tryout number on the website November 15th at 11AM.  Coaches will contact the players within 24 hours of tryouts. Athletes have 24 hours to decline their spot (November 16th at 11AM). 

• Teams will consist of 8-11 players but will generally be kept to 9 players.  Rosters will be created for what best serves both the team and the athlete, under certain circumstances this means playing up or with a different team.

Age Group Classifications for the 2020 Season 

  9 under Players born on or after September 1, 2010

10 under Players born on or after September 1, 2009 

11 under Players born on or after September 1, 2008 

12 under Players born on or after September 1, 2007 

13 under Players born on or after September 1, 2006 

14 under Players born on or after September 1, 2005 

15 under Players born on or after September 1, 2004 

16 under Players born on or after September 1, 2003 

17 under Players born on or after September 1, 2002 

18 under Players born on or after September 1, 2001 

Alpha offers three levels of teams; Performance, Power, and Developmental.

All fees are included. Alpha believes in presenting the true cost up front. We will offer sponsorship and fundraising opportunities to offset per diem costs. Per Diem costs range depending on travel. Money raised by the club will be distributed to cover per diem costs. The remainder will be assigned in April to be paid. 

Teams will practice in several locations in Central KY.  Practice times will be between 4 PM and 10 PM daily with some practices on weekends without tournaments. Performance teams will have SAQ and Positional Training once a week. These are part of the expected practice schedule.  Power teams will have positional and SAQ training once a month, and these are part of the practice schedule.

Teams will travel within the tri-state area. All Performance teams will travel to AAU’s in Orlando. Developmental teams will stay in KY (including Cincinnati and Southern Indiana).

COACHING

Alpha’s coaching staff will offer coaching from the best Central KY has to offer.  Alpha offers coaches who have dedicated their lives to the sport, through coaching middle school, high school, and college. Alpha offers coaches with playing experience covering every level of collegiate competition along with professional careers. 

COACHING

Alpha believes in offering the best coaching but also understands we can never settle. We will offer several coaches clinics throughout the year as well clinics for the athletes to experience different coaching throughout the year. Our clinic coaches this year will be Anne Kordes, John Rodriguez, GMS and Dan Dierking.  In addition we believe in the Master Coach System in which each age group will be overseen by a coach making sure that that all training is challenging athletes to consistently improve.

Alpha will host a recruiting meeting discussing the different levels of college volleyball as well as how to approach the recruiting process.  Contact [email protected] to setup an individual meeting for the upcoming season. Rebecca Just,  will be running all individual meetings for recruiting. Nick Griffin Will be running our recruiting seminar.  We will also be hosting a recruiting workshop for how to make a video and write your recruiting email.
