How long have you been coaching volleyball, and what inspired you to get started?
I have been coaching volleyball for two years, I think what inspired me was the love for the game, wanting to make a good impression on younger girls, and give them a good coaching experience.
What do you enjoy or look forward to about coaching for Alpha?
I really look forward to the overall positive environment and the impact Alpha has on families and their girls!
How do you approach developing athletes both on and off the court?
I think it’s important for athletes to be well rounded, not only in their athletics, but as an overall human being. This is why I think bonding with the team is especially important and creating an open line of communication between the player and coach!
What can athletes and their families expect when they join your team in terms of development and growth?
Athletes can expect an outlet where they can come play and walk out feeling better than when they came in, and most importantly, walking out being 1% better. Families can expect a positive, encouraging, and competitive environment where they will see their athlete thrive and make new connections she will remember for the rest of her career!
What’s your favorite drill or coaching technique, and why do you love using it?
Pit drill, this drill gets my girls moving and in the past they like me to go hard on them and make it a fun challenge!
What’s one piece of advice you’ve received as an athlete or coach that you still carry with you today?
Play every game like it’s your last game!
