How long have you been coaching volleyball, and what inspired you to get started?
I have been coaching for 6 years, I played in college and my mom was also a coach and she inspired me to get into coaching.
What do you enjoy or look forward to about coaching for Alpha?
Building relationships with all the coaches and players and getting to travel some!
How do you approach developing athletes both on and off the court?
Finding the skills that they both struggle and excel in and using those as advantage points for improving their skills.
What can athletes and their families expect when they join your team in terms of development and growth?
I will always push athletes to meet their full potential. I do not let players slack or get complacent in their game, I am always going to push for the next level.
What’s your favorite drill or coaching technique, and why do you love using it?
One of my all time favorite drills is the PIT drill because it involves the players moving, talking and using their skills all at the same time. Little bit of conditioning while also having fun.
What’s one piece of advice you’ve received as an athlete or coach that you still carry with you today?
Never settle. You can always go higher but you cannot allow yourself to lower your standards for anyone or anything.
