How long have you been coaching volleyball, and what inspired you to get started?
This is my first year coaching! After playing through high school and club, I now want to be able to share my knowledge and experience to help younger athletes reach their full potential.
What do you enjoy or look forward to about coaching for Alpha?
I look forward to meeting and learning from all the coaches and making memories with my team.
How do you approach developing athletes both on and off the court?
As a teacher and former player, I want to develop the whole athlete by focusing on volleyball fundamentals and a team culture where mistakes are learning opportunities and players are held accountable for their positive body language. Off the court, my priority is the student first, using team bonding activities and mentorship to reinforce life skills like discipline, leadership, and time management.
What can athletes and their families expect when they join your team in terms of development and growth?
I want to recognize that each athlete learns and responds differently. I want to find what works best for them to reach their full potential and ensure they still love the game at the end of the season.
What’s your favorite drill or coaching technique, and why do you love using it?
Queen of the court to get everyone warmed up and communicating
What’s one piece of advice you’ve received as an athlete or coach that you still carry with you today?
It’s ok to make a mistake, just don’t let it ruin your confidence.
